Boss, what I heard today! I was sitting quietly with my coffee, thinking about my BMW payments and the electricity bill, when I stumbled upon news that made me swallow my tongue. No joke! Romania took first place by nation at the European Geography Olympiad in Varna, Bulgaria. And not just anyhow, but with five gold medals and three silver. Man, total madness! And here we are complaining that nothing gets done in this country...

Listen up, bro, because I memorized these names so I'll know them when they become somebody. In juniors: Mateșescu-Pașcalău Bogdan-Andrei from Timișoara and Toma Tudor from the International Theoretical High School of Informatics in Bucharest - both gold! Eftime Matei from Brașov and Perhinschi Gabriel from Iași - silver. Man, Iași, the county with high unemployment and many who've left, but still produces smart kids! And Brașov, where rent equals a salary, yet they still boast about achievements.

But wait, seniors are even cooler! Dumitrescu David-Mihai from Craiova - gold and 1ST PLACE in the overall ranking, the highest score in the competition. Over there, in Argeș, in Mioveni, they make cars, but in Craiova they make geography champions! Alexandra-Mihaela Aramă from Iași - gold, and two from Focșani: Păun Eduard-Ionuț and Merăuță Ionuț, both gold and silver. Me, I didn't know they do gold-level geography in Focșani, but apparently they do!

The coordinating teachers, Fiscutean Mihaela Cornelia from Iași and Alexandru Mihaela Florina from the Ministry, pushed these kids to reach the top. And the Ministry, supposedly, covered their fees, travel, per diem... Man, kudos to them! For once, our money goes to something good, not just special pensions and bribes. Because that's how, when we go out into the world, we make fools of ourselves... but in a good way!

Now, if you ask me, I'd give more publicity to stuff like this, not just scandals and politicians fighting over positions. Seriously, these kids deserve respect, not just a Facebook post. Me, with my Brian, who sits on TikTok all day dreaming of being a footballer, I'd show him the picture of Dumitrescu David from Craiova, to see that you can make it with books too. But I know he'll end up playing FIFA anyway.

So, bro, let's enjoy some good news! Because horses don't die when dogs want them to, but when Romanians win medals, it feels different. Now, if you ask me when we'll have a highway to Varna to go applaud them, that's another story...
