Bro, grab a beer and sit down, because I've got news that makes you realize even we Romanians are on the front line of the drone war! I was chilling at Fane's terrace in Berceni, with a mici and a beer, when my phone blows up: my boy Relu sends me a link. I look and see that Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, and Mark Rutte, the NATO secretary general, came out for a press conference in Kyiv and announce that Ukraine is sending anti-drone experts right to us in Romania! No joke! They said they're going to Romania and the Baltic states to teach us how to shoot down Russian drones. I crossed myself! And not only that: Zelensky said they've done this before in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries to defend against Iranian drones. So, cuz, Ukraine is becoming a world specialist in drone hunting. And us, what do we get? They send us a team of experts to show us how to stop drones from falling on our heads.

Yeah, bro, because these NATO guys are moving after what happened in Galați on May 29! There, a Russian Geran-2 drone, which had passed through Ukrainian airspace, crashed directly into a block of flats. Lucky no one died, but horrific images, bro! And it's not the only case: drones launched by Ukraine against northern Russia have crashed in Finland and the Baltic states. So Ukraine wants to clean up its image and sends experts to teach us how to intercept them. Man, I saw on the news how they said the Russians, with their electronic warfare systems, intentionally redirected some Ukrainian drones. So the Russians are playing ping-pong with drones, and we're the ball!

At the press conference, Mark Rutte drew a sharp conclusion: "Russia bears responsibility for the drone incidents in the countries on NATO's eastern flank." And he continued: "Let's not forget where it all started, from Russia's aggression against Ukraine, which began in March 2014 and continued with a large-scale attack at the end of February 2022." So when something like this happens, Russia is the one behind it. Everyone in NATO is aware of this, and we know Ukraine will do everything to minimize the consequences.

Now, let's be serious, bro! Here in Berceni, we're struggling with potholes in the asphalt and uninsulated blocks, while these NATO guys talk about drones and experts. Mioara, my wife, asked me: "Hey, Costel, if a drone comes over our block, what do we do?" I told her: "Woman, relax, an expert from Kyiv is coming to teach us!" They'll probably send Fane's boys to install some antennas on the roof. But, cuz, it's clear something's coming: and I'm getting hit at the pump too, because gas will go up due to tensions, like Relu said. So until the expert arrives, I'm stocking up on beer and watching the sky. I'm not afraid of anything, but I'd rather stay away from drones. That's how we Romanians roll: scared shitless, but talking big!
