Man, total madness! I was sitting quietly with my coffee, scrolling through my phone, and I stumble upon something that makes me jump out of my seat. Almost 12,000 Romanians - 11,970 to be exact - are getting special pensions in May 2026, 13 more than last month. And out of these, 7,922 also get a contributory pension, the normal kind. You have no idea what's going on in my head, bro! Mioara, my wife, is sweating over Lidl receipts, and I see these numbers - can you believe it?

Listen up, bro: most of them are magistrates. 5,850 beneficiaries, exactly under Law 303/2022 - their special status. Of these, 2,541 also draw a pension from BASS. And their average pension? 25,586 lei a month! Of which 7,575 from BASS and 22,461 from the state budget. I mean, bro, one retired judge takes home as much as 20 normal pensioners combined. Me, with my 2008 BMW and payments to Relu, I struggle to make 3,000 lei a month, and this guy takes 25 grand. You gotta be out of your mind!

But it doesn't stop there. We've got other categories too - 'cause they ain't the only smart ones. 780 people from the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, with an average pension of 7,007 lei (3,034 from the budget). Another 861 - parliamentary civil servants - average 6,274 lei (3,550 from the budget). Civil aviation personnel, pilots and flight attendants, 1,322 pensioners, all with BASS pensions, average 13,093 lei (8,056 from the state). 700 beneficiaries from the Court of Accounts, average 10,685 lei (2,682 from the budget). And auxiliary staff from courts and prosecutor's offices - 2,457 people, average 7,320 lei (4,489 from the budget).

Now, wait till you hear the worst part: the data is from the National House of Public Pensions, published by Agerpres too. It's not hot air, it's official. And what do I do? I look at the average pension in Teleorman - a desolate county, half the population gone - where people barely scrape together 1,200 lei. Or in Sălaj, the ghost county where the young flee to the West, and the old folks live on 1,500. But in Cluj, in that bubble with 4,000 euros per square meter, maybe a magistrate can afford a studio. But in Vâlcea, where scammers build their villas, this special pension is like a slap in the face.

What do you say, bro? Who's paying for all this? Us, the regular folks, who work a lifetime and in old age look at Ioana's allowance like it's a gift. Mioara says I should become a judge, but I finished vocational school. For now, I'm off to explain to her why we're not buying an apartment in Pipera this year - 'cause even so, with these pensions, we're left with a swollen lip.
