Man, what I heard today! I don't know what's up with the weather, but it's gone completely crazy. In the Bucegi Mountains, a teacher was struck by lightning while descending with 14 students from Vârful Omu.
Thank God there was a shepherd at Stâna Șugări who alerted the mountain rescue, otherwise who knows what would have happened. The woman was unconscious and was carried on a stretcher to the Salvamont Peștera base, then to the hospital. She has first and second-degree burns on 30% of her body, but she's conscious.
One student also suffered a leg injury. Salvamont says to get off the ridges when there's a storm and avoid metal objects. Good for them, but if you ask me, you can't prevent everything.
And that's not all, boss! In Giurgiu, Ștefan Muscă's farm went up in flames! 4,500 bales of alfalfa burned to a crisp. 300,000 euros, bro! Everything he had from 220 hectares went up in smoke, from this year and last year's harvest.
The farmer says the fire was spotted at 8:30 AM, but the firefighters only got there at 11. At least the caretaker and the cows got out. Now he has nothing to sell, but he still has to pay the rent.
That's how it is in our country, lightning takes everything, and the firefighters are late. Good thing no one died, but the damage is huge.
