Boss, sit down or I'll knock you over! What we Romanians have been through with the 'Horror Homes' in Bihor. Ain't you ashamed, bro? They evacuated the people and sent them to Vâlcea, right to Râmnicu Vâlcea, but instead of 29 beneficiaries, as announced, 58 showed up! That's double! The authorities there woke up with an extra chicken in the oven, because hey, that's how our system works: one says one thing, another says something else, and we're left with a swollen lip.
Listen up, the Ministry of Labor says they were redistributed to 20 General Directorates of Social Assistance and Child Protection across the country. But in Vâlcea, the initial plan was 29, they got 58. The vice president of the Vâlcea County Council, one Adrian Iliescu, declared that the operation was alert and they will correct the situation by sending the people to other counties. Wait till you see how nice: in the meantime, the poor people stood for hours without knowing where they'd end up.
And the saddest part: most spoke exclusively Hungarian and had no ID documents. Just like throwing packages off a truck. After hours of checks, some were taken to Vrancea, Giurgiu, Alba, Timiș, and Brașov. But do you think that's okay? Nobody's pulling the wool over my eyes.
But let's not forget about Viorel Pașca's network. The Bucharest Tribunal decided to place Pașca, his wife, and sons under judicial control, plus the president of the Dumbrava Association. The prosecutors contested the measure, because hey, the file goes to the Court of Appeal. And what do you think they found during the searches? Over 200 bank and social cards, ID documents, nice sums of money in several currencies, registers of admissions, discharges, and deaths. And a pharmacy room, with special regime medications, but administered by whom? By people with no medical training, bro! Can you believe it?
The investigators say that in 20 years, over 3,300 people passed through Pașca's properties. Of these, approximately 1,020 died. And all deaths were registered in Dumbrava commune, where the mortality rate is three times higher than the national average. And some of the dead were allegedly buried on a plot near the Greek Catholic cemetery, and the funeral benefits were pocketed by the group. What more can I say? Caragiale would be proud of this mess.
The prosecutors also planted an undercover investigator in February 2026, after failing last year. And those pieces of evidence were the basis of the charges. Well, if they didn't have evidence, maybe they'd get off again. That's the system, bro: some steal, others play dumb, and we pay.
Now, here's the good part: if the state worked properly, 58 people wouldn't end up in Vâlcea instead of 29. But because we're Romanians, we manage. Only this time, I wonder: how many of those 1,020 dead could have lived if the system worked? Think about it, bro, when you go to Lidl and see an old man counting his bread money. Maybe he too could have ended up in a 'horror home'.
For now, I'm off to tell Mioara that I heard about some elderly without documents, maybe we'll go to church to pray for them. And if you see a politician saying 'it'll be sorted out,' don't believe him! Better grab a beer and drink to the health of those who never got justice.
