Boss, sit down because I've got news that'll make you think twice before sipping your morning coffee. Sorin Grindeanu, the head of PSD and the Chamber of Deputies, laid it on Eugen Tomac, the designated prime minister, with a clear condition: if he wants PSD's votes, he has to change the economic direction, get rid of that crap austerity that Bolojan shoved down our throats.

Grindeanu said it in front of everyone on Tuesday and put his cards on the table. He harshly criticized the former prime minister Ilie Bolojan's policy, which he considers responsible for the economic gridlock. "Because of the deficit, we have to cut CASS for war veterans, for mothers, make all sorts of cuts - all of this led to a blockage in the economy," he said, with the numbers in front of him. And you know what? He's got a point, bro. Because when I go to Fane's terrace, all I hear is: 'Nothing's working anymore, bro, the money's gone.'

The PSD leader said the party remains committed to external targets - PNRR, OECD, and the 6.2% of GDP deficit - but warned these can't be achieved in a blocked economy. "We need to unblock the economy. Otherwise, month by month, we'll sink into a bigger and bigger gridlock, and you won't be able to keep the deficit even at that negotiated level," he explained. Basically, he's telling us that if we don't move something, we'll end up with even bigger bills, and Mioara will tell me again that I eat too much.

Another sensitive point Grindeanu touched on is the outstanding payments to the private sector. He suggested that the artificial reduction of the deficit is done by delaying these obligations: "You have to come out of the lie. There are billions of euros that haven't been paid to companies. Sure, you have a lower deficit if you don't make these payments," drawing a parallel to the 2010-2011 period. Man, oh man! It's like we're going back to those times when we stood in line for bread.

Grindeanu explicitly rejected the former prime minister's economic model: "We fell into a trap, including us, into a trap set by Ilie Bolojan last year, this austerity as the only model we can follow. Bad model. And this has to change." And the condition for PSD support was clearly stated: "If Eugen Tomac wants to have PSD's votes, he must understand that this is PSD's first condition." In other words, bro, if Tomac doesn't drop austerity, he has no chance.

Finally, the PSD leader also attacked the current government setup, stating that "that's why we changed the Bolojan Government, because it governed poorly." He accused the former prime minister of "trying to block everything, trying to prevent a new government from being voted in, so he can stay there." Let's be serious, bro, it's like we're in 'Las Fierbinți': everyone's arguing, but nobody's doing anything concrete.

Anyway, I'm going to tell Relu, who has a terrace in Berceni, that maybe we can get together and debate the economic model over a beer. Maybe something good will come out of all this madness, because for now, I'm still stuck with my 2008 BMW.
