Boss, grab a coffee and check out what I found out! I don't know if you've heard, but on that cursed highway between Sibiu and Pitești, linking Transylvania to Wallachia, they're working their butts off. CNAIR announced: there are open construction sites in three tunnels at once! Balota, Robești, and Boița 1 - right on the toughest stretch, through the mountains, where even goats think twice before crossing.

Let me lay it out straight. At Balota, a 500-meter tunnel, they've already dug 16 meters from the first end. They've barely started, but at least something's moving. At Robești, which is 900 meters, things are better: they've finished excavations on both sides, the stage is 36%, and now they're putting in waterproofing and concrete. And at Boița 1, with two galleries of 264 and 247 meters, they've dug 87 meters in one and 21 in the other, meaning 17% done. Not wow, but you can see the light at the end of the tunnel, as they say.

On this construction site, the Boița - Cornetu section, 562 workers and 155 machines are working. And the overall stage is only 11.63%. The contract is for 4.250 billion lei without VAT, European money from the Transport Program. Meaning the EU gave us the cash, and we're still stumbling. But at least there's visible progress, unlike the Moldova highway, which is still a bad joke.

Now, wait for the trick. The CNAIR director said clearly: the next step doesn't depend on the builders. What do you know? The Ministry of Environment has to issue a Revised Environmental Agreement. Without it, they can't get construction permits for the whole site. Well, damn it, why so much paperwork? We're struggling with the digging, and those guys at the Environment are probably signing with their minds on vacation. It pisses me off, but what can I do, that's the system.

Let's not forget: this section is 31.33 kilometers, with seven tunnels in total (almost 5 kilometers of galleries), plus 24 bridges and 24 viaducts, meaning 11 kilometers of structures up high. It's a huge investment, bro, part of the Pan-European Corridor IV. When it's done, you'll be able to go from Sibiu to Pitești without tumbling around curves. But until then, let's have another beer at Fane's terrace and watch machines on YouTube. Who knows, maybe we'll catch a highway in this lifetime!
